In 2016, Alex and Jake became friends, roommates, and coworkers, bonded by their mutual love for clothing and styling. With each boasting over a decade of experience, their passion and knowledge led to the founding of Wool & Linen in February 2020. Despite the challenges posed by the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, their love for the industry motivated them to build the brand, turning their shared dream into a reality.

A brand that prioritizes style, fit, craftsmanship, and customer service. They take great care and joy into each and every fitting, so much in fact, that their clients often become great friends of theirs. The life-changing feeling that comes with well-tailored and styled clothing is the fuel for them and they aim to share that feeling with their clients each and every day.

Since its establishment, Wool & Linen has proudly supported over a dozen non-profits, contributing to their initiatives aimed at making a difference in our community. Alex and Jake aspire to continue supporting various causes as they pursue their own path.

A Word From the Founders

Jake Loncar

“My grandfather told my father, that whether you have a million dollars or a penny in your pocket, the second you put on a well-tailored suit you carry yourself with respect and people treat you differently. The quote holds extra weight because when he came here from Croatia, he was the head maintenance guy of a sky rise in Gold Coast, but everyone knew the second he changed out of his work clothes he was in a nice outfit. My father taught me the importance of that from a young age, from simple things like making sure we woke up early enough to fix our hair before soccer matches to wearing our best looks on special occasions.

Starting my career in the fashion industry at 17, I’ve seen that intentionality behind the way you get dressed is not only transformative to your personal character, but it’s also positively impactful on your community.

“As an Indiana native, my fascination with suiting began in my childhood and has transformed into a lifelong passion. This early captivation has been woven into the very fabric of my identity. With 10 years of industry experience, suiting has become more than just a fascination; it's a testament to my expertise and a significant part of my professional journey. My dedication to the craft was recently recognized when I won a Men's fashion award in Chicago, further fueling my passion for the art of tailoring.

For me, suiting is more than just stitches and fabrics; it's a transformative force that empowers me to navigate the world. Each perfectly tailored suit and thoughtfully chosen accessory allows me to step into the world not just as a fashion enthusiast but as a confident, outgoing individual. It's about embodying a lifestyle that resonates with elegance and sophistication, leaving a lasting mark on every social encounter. Through suiting, I have embraced a journey of self-discovery, unveiling layers of creativity and style.
